The initiative for small-scale Farming

Start-ups often have low levels of resources but are often not using what they have access to the best of their advantage. In the small farms we often see a disconnect between the market (what the client needs) and what the small farmer can / wants to produce.

This approach to farm start-ups and growth is referred to Bootstrapping. Bootstrapping is about pulling yourself up by the bootstraps through prayer, vision and purpose while using the rags (what we have to our disposal) effectively to create richness.

We can all be very resourceful when we have a hand up, and each other as a motivator and resource. The answer is to get every small farmer to develop his/her own income stream and allow him/her to contribute to the initiative (skill, time and equipment), thus equipping micro farmers (with their own patches of land) to actively grow and supply organic vegetables for wholesale purposes. This Initiative will rely heavily on Academic expertise build from small farms and rural farm development projects all over the world. Most of these projects were designed to assist municipalities and governments to improve the financial wellbeing of the respective communities. The frustration is, that despite interest, nothing they (government) touch currently works. As a result, if we want to do better, we will have to do it ourselves.
